Sandra Struthers

I offer individual (adult or teen), couple/relationship, and family therapy. With warmth, humor and “real talk,” I aim to support clients in navigating personal and interpersonal challenges, and creating authentic lives and connections that feel in integrity with their values. My goal is to create a safe space where together we can get curious about how personal history, behaviors, and thought patterns impact your quality of life and/or relationships.
I believe that going to therapy is an act of courage, and work to ensure my clients feel heard, validated, cared for, and respected. You will find me kind, but also direct, and genuinely enthusiastic about your growth.
If you are looking for individual work, you will find me informal and collaborative–you are the expert in your life, while I offer support, reflection, and tools to grow. Our work may blend multiple evidence-based theories including EFT, IFS, Narrative, and somatic-based interventions.
If you seek relational therapy–either for families or partnerships–my philosophy is that no individual is “to blame” for relational distress; the relational dynamic is what we will examine and nurture in session. We will look at your presenting issue(s), get curious about the root causes, examine unhelpful patterns/cycles, and develop insights. We will also build tools to help you reach better relational health.
I have a particular passion for working with artists, creatives, highly-intelligent people, spiritual seekers, emerging adults, highly-sensitive people, folks who embrace counter-culture, and clients identifying as LGBTQ+. Other clinical interests include the healing potential of the arts and of psychedelics in the therapeutic realm. Both personally and professionally, I care deeply about social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.
